In this connection the principles observed in the

selection of pupils for admission (page 4) are of

special interest. Effective means have been taken for

making know the functions of the School to the

classes for which it is intended. As a result, 350

candidates presented themselves for admission, from

whom 40 were selected.

3. The Secretary of State has sanctioned the

expenditure of $28,000 on the construction of a

laboratory and two classrooms, which will be ready

before the close of this year.

4. The concluding portion of the Report deals

with the relations of the School to the existing and

proposed evening classes.
